Jon Stewart Reviews Media Coverage Absurdities Of The Egyptian Revolution

The latest chapter of of the
revolution in Egypt occurred last week with the resignation of Hosni Mubarak . Coincidentally, Jon Stewart and his team of minions at The Daily Show had the week off, so there was lots of news, media coverage and general levity to make of the events of last week. There’s Fox and Friends Brian Kilmeade implication that Tony Blair and George Bush invented freedom; Glenn Beck fearing said freedom; and David Gergen giving credit to the Egyptian people. Wait, what?!

The situation in Egypt evolved rather dramatically over the course of last week, why it seemed like it was just a few days ago that CNN’s Anderson Cooper was getting “cold-cocked” by pro-Mubarak thugs. Cut to seven days later and we see footage of CBS News’ Harry Smith getting hugged and kissed in Tahrir Square. Egyptians must have LOVED The Early Show!
